"I am a musician by profession, that's my whole life, and I didn't want to waste it in easy retirement"
Brian and Roger travel to Cologne to host a Press Conference, which takes place tomorrow (29 October), to launch the German production of We Will Rock You, opening there on 12 December. During their stay in Cologne, Brian and Roger have an, as usual, very tight schedule, and Brian says they will be working on the show to make sure it is as good as it can be.

Following the sad news that Radio 1 DJ legend John Peel died today, Roger Taylor has paid the following tribute:
"John Peel was the first DJ in the world to play Queen. His was the only show in the 60's to bring us all the music from that era, of lasting interest. His contribution was pivotal and vital to the progression of popular music. What a huge gap he will leave."

Brian and Roger played live on MTV-Russia Awards on 16th October 2004, they performed "We Will Rock You" and We Are The Champions at the end of the ceremony. Leading vocal was by one of the Russian cast. Sadly the TV broadcast was edited. Other non-Russian stars guests were The Rasmus (Finnish rock band), vocalist from Savage Garden.
Besides the Russian WWRY had its premiere (17th Oct). Now we know the setlist from the after-show party... but what a pity not a real concert! Anyway, let's be satisfied with what we have: Tie Your Mother Down (vocals: WWRY lady and Brian), I'm In Love With My Car (vocals: Roger), The Show Must Go On (vocals: WWRY cast), Sleeping On The Sidewalk (vocals: Brian), We Will Rock You (vocals: WWRY cast), Rock And Roll (vocals: Roger), Johnny Be Goode (vocals :WWRY guy), With A Little Help From My Friends (vocals: WWRY cast). And that's all for now Folkes!
In latest Spike Edney newsletter we find the info that Roger Taylor is going to be a guest with SAS Band at their December charity gig. Below an excerpt from that newsletter. Unfortunatelly no more info is known at the time.

On 9th October 2004 Sydney WWRY Press Conference took place. Present were both Roger and Brian, along with Ben Elton, the writer. Roger was said to 'be trying to kiss' Elton... hi hi hi... what an idea! More history on what happened there when I have it.

The three, Roger, Brian and Thomas Gottschalk (whom they knew long before when Queen played in his TV programme, and also did The Cross), TV-moderator from Germany (and also a fan of Queen), met on September 8, 2004 in Las Vegas. They also met there WWRY producer, Michael Brenner in Hotel Paris. Roger and Brian agreeded to play some excerpts from the musical just before the WWRY Cologne premiere (Oct 11th) in Nuernberg, Germany (and it is said maybe also co-producer Robert De Niro appears). Gottschalk's programme is called "Wetten, dass" and is well-known in Germany. All that was written in a local Koelner Newspaper, "Koelner Stadtanzeiger" on September 21st, 2004.
As for the Russian premiere, it takes place on October 17th, 2004. All we have to do is wait and see ;)
Sorry, I made a little mistake. They are not in Cologne now. They just met a German TV-host Thomas Gottschalk, who introduced them to his TV programme for DECEMBER 11th, just a day before WWRY is opened in GERMANY, Cologne. There has been a small feature in a local Cologne newspaper, saying Gottschalk and the TWO met back there in LAS VEGAS. And that was my mistake, as I thought it was in Cologne (I really don't know why).
The second announce was that Roger Taylor wasn't the one to prepare a postcard for National Literacy Trust - as this was Roger Taylor of Duran Duran who was concerned :) So OUR Roger Taylor didn't prepare any card to be auctioned (yet) ;)))
