Roger Taylor of Queen Rarites Fansite
"I am a musician by profession, that's my whole life, and I didn't want to waste it in easy retirement"
The Cross in London 4 Dec 1988
(Fan Club Party w. Brian and John)
The concert was held at Hammersmith Palais, London.
-
"Cowboys & Indians"
Outstanding "in the USA" husky scream :) Roger playing black Fender Telecaster guitar.
-
"Heaven For Everyone"
Roger more sings than plays the guitar. The second voice is sung by Peter Noone, the bassist. At the end the song slows down...
-
"It's An Illusion"
Roger says it's got to be "Strange Frontier" song... but turns to be "It's An Illusion". A bit different style of singing "voodoo" word ;)
-
"Contact"
More guitar solos there. Roger trying to go solo, but no-one really knows who plays... he says Clayton Moss on the guitar.
-
"Man On Fire"
As always "I wanna burn" words at the end.
-
"Strange Frontier"
Roger says it goes earlier... but really they sing it here and now. People get really crazy! Then comes Brian May... and John Deacon!
-
"Dust My Broom"
...and Brian takes on the vocals! 3/4 of Queen version of this old bluesy stuff.
-
"I'm In Love With My Car"
Roger takes back on vocals... not for too long... Brian tells this is an old Roger song...
-
"Early Morning Blues"
Brian says it was written some 60 years ago. In the meantime Roger goes to play the drums!
-
"Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On"
This time we have a guest appearance by Chris Thompson (as the lead singer). Roger still on drums, as a second drummer. And that's the end!
The concert has been bootlegged and exists in the void as "75% Queen" along with The Cross' Munich 1991 concert.
